Happy International Women's Day to all our soul sisters, divas and independent ladies out there!

We have been celebrating in style, including listening to lots of Lauren Hill, guys: watch out!

We also spent the afternoon at Bristol radio station, Passion. They were representing the ladies, having all female DJs, and interviewing some Bristol women doing it for themselves, including our mumma, Dionne.

Walk of Shame shoot

We've just got the photos back from the 'Walk of Shame' street shoot we did on Monday, and they are looking hotttt!

A massive thanks goes out to our incredible team, who braved the cold (it was fffrreeeeezzzzinnggg!) to get us such awesome results. February is definitely not the ideal time for an outdoor shoot, however the show must go on! Thanks guys; Kevin Voller for photography, Jessica Mills and Gemma Everett for makeup, Peachy Stylist for hair, Adele Toyne, Victoria Hobbs ad Natalie Harvey for assisstant styling and last but not least, Madge Clay, Donatella Pegler, Hollie G Grant and Tess Underhill for their amazing modelling skills, and for rocking it in next to nothing when the rest of us were freezing in huge coats!

Also big thanks to Motion Skate park, who let us use their space. So strange being in a nightclub after hours! It felt smaller when it wasn't filled with hundreds of ravers!

The theme of this shoot was the morning after the night before. As the sun comes up, and clubs start kicking out, our Puckoo girls have not an eyelash out of place!

So you can get an idea of the look of the shoot, here is one of the moodboards created by our intern, Victoria.

Street Style- Stokes Croft, Bristol vs Brick Lane, London. Week 1: Stokes Croft

We can't help but admire the wicked individual style we witness on a daily basis on the streets of our home, Stokes Croft, and our second home, Brick Lane. But who is the best? Well, we have decided to go out and photograph the creams of the crop in each area, to find out who takes the street style crown.

Time for round one, starting this week with the turn of Stokes Croft. We will pick one winner in each area, and then at the end of each round, which area wins the point.

This girl and her vintage parka gets top marks! We are also loving the partially shaved head look at the moment. Our ears get cold, but we don't care! All in the name of style baby!

The girl on the left's jacket is making us jealous. And the girl on the right is so cute! We want to be her friend.

This guy, Yoshi, would have been this week's winner, until we found out he was actually from East London and just visiting for the weekend haha. That would hardly have been fair of us! But, we love his outfit and his hair... and his tattoo... ok, so we love everything about this dude.

Pink hair and a subtley colour coordinated bag and cardi (just peeping out from under the fur) is definitely a strong look. Also, as you can see, Bristol loves its leopard prints.

Nice jacket. This cold weather is obviously good for at least one thing; showcasing our layers! We also love this guy's Fresh Prince style hair.

This pair will have to share the crown! Awesome t-shirts, hair and piercings and, most importantly,  awesome personal style (One confident friend, one shy), has left us swooning in the studio!

Overall, the guys seem to be the winners this week. On to Brick Lane next week for part two of the first round. C'mon ladies, show us what you've got!

Puckoo at: Futureboogie 11th Birthday

This time last weekend, we were at the Exchange for the 11th Birthday night of Bristol house label , Futureboogie, which also prepared the guys for their first trip off to Snowbombing. 

 Sounds from the likes of Crazy P, Maxxi Sound System, and Christophe and Lukas, as well as party scene massives- the Future Boogie Djs, had clubbers throwing some serious shapes on the dance floor. 

The clubber trends of the night was a mix of sequins, sparkling leggings, disco pants and vibrant patterns, which produced a dazzling display under the club lights. Those Futureboogiers got styleeee! 

Of course, style isn’t just about the clothes you wear, it’s about how you wear them! Here at Puckoo Couture, we like to see people owning it, with a mixture of 3 things: fun, sexy, confidence. Let your personalities shine as much as the sequins on your back baby! 

This clubber shows us how it’s done! Her beautiful appliquéd dress is accessorised with drop earrings and a beaming smile. 

Pulling sexy off with ease, this clubber's bright crop tee and  curve enhancing leggings are making us jealous!

This clubber highlights her natural beauty, with sparkling sequins and minimal makeup. 

This pair look like fun to party with, shining on the inside as well as the out!

Independent Women

Here at Puckoo, we are proud to be independent!

Our independence doesn't just mean that we haven’t sold our soul to bloody corporation, it means that we know that our garms are created with our own love sweat and tears, and we’re not going to rely on the help of unknown factory workers, who are often sourced outside of the EU, in many places where regulations of conditions for those working in the garment industry are seriously not cool . We find long hours hard enough, and can’t imagine what it would be like not to have the lush comforts of our studio to do it in!

Obviously, independence doesn't only exist in fashion. We find that there are  opportunities to buy local and independent in the majority of what‘s on our shopping lists.

We love the real sense of community that comes when shopping independently, there is so much more of a story to be told, and so much more of a passion for the work. 

This video sums up what I'm talking about perfectly! It’s filmed in Gloucester Road, which is just up the road from our studio, and is the longest line of independent shops in Europe.

Such an amazing city to be a part of!

YO YO YOOooo, So WE’RE BAAACK… (again!)

So we’re now officially firmly back in the wonderful world of blogging , and here to help let you beautiful people know wata gwan is our lovely new blogger, Jenny Pearce. We’ve got so much kool sh!t going on right now that we decided we need to share it with you all… Like, YESTERDAY!! So sorry it’s taken so long folks, but lots to catch up on so I’ll leave you with Jenny to fill you in!

Hey it’s Jenny, very happy to be giving you lot the  what’s what for Puckoo Couture! You will be hearing from me a lot more often from now on =).

Now, on to what we’ve been up to! We’re currently working on the clothes and styling for Hot D’Jour’s new music video- think chains, feathers, charms and studs…and then add a whole load more blingblingbling!! It’s been a struggle, with head designer Dionne on only eight hours sleep for the last 3 days trying to get everything finished in time, but it’s so worth it and we are really excited for shooting the music video on Saturday & Sunday! The video will be filmed at Circomedia in Bristol, meaning there will be lots of fun to be had with performers, hoops and general circus tom-foolery! Seriously, can’t wait! We are going to give you lucky so-and-so’s a behind the scenes look, so keep checking our blog for pics and more!

Here’s a little sneak peak of a bra top we’ve been working on named 'High Roller' from the new 'Charm' Collection …. Shiny shinyyy (sorry, I’m like a magpie me!)

We’ve also been sewing away on our festival pieces, you can find us at our first festival of the season, Love Saves the Day, on the 3^rd of June in Bristol, UK. We’ll be living it large and selling the finest of festival garms (for men women and children) in the Shambarber vs Boo Dior tent, alongside dear friend and fellow independent labels Fuudhood and Sew that Jazz.
